I use to have a little pick boom box in my bedroom. I would turn on American Top 40 every Saturday morning and listen to Casey Kasem count them down. No internet back then to tell me instantaneously who was number one. I had to sit through four hours of commercials! The dedications were always so sad. Former lovers, estranged siblings, family deaths, but Kasem’s voice was always so soothing.

My tablet has replaced my pink FM/AM boom box. While the hardware has changed, the necessity of good music and podcasts hasn’t.
