You want the real reason why the Laker’s organization passed on Phil Jackson? It has nothing to do with the fact that Jackson didn’t want to travel to away games or that he wanted a stake in ownership. Nope. None-of-that.

It all came down to a little tweet I sent out.

The reason for my displeasure: I like Mike D’Antoni but dislike the Lakers. We can chalk this up to an east coast/west coast unfriendliness. Tupac and Biggie explain it much better than I can.

When no one is around, I secretly play my outdated version of NBA2k with the Knicks, just to have his coaching style. The thought of doing this with the Lakers is unbearable.

For now all I can say is, well played, Jim Buss, well played.
