First of all, it has to be said, the cops had every reason to shoot. He’s on drugs and brandishing a knife. McDonald is a threat to everyone in that neighborhood.

What I don’t agree with are the shots fired after he goes down. Did you need fifteen more shots? Did you need a kill shot to the head? No. Would my argument be different if McDonald had a gun? Yes. Then I would agree to an initial kill shot.

But why?

Because he has a gun and can blow your head off. He’s less of a threat with a knife. If you had charged the cops I would still be for a kill shot. But this man is walking away delusional. Still a threat, but cops are trained to fire at the arms and legs to “subdue” a perpetrator. Their not held to that standard but it’s protocol.

Fifteen shots and one to the head makes this a open season hunting scene.
